Woody’s Lunch Box – NEW Disney Dining REVIEW

Headed to Hollywood Studios?  Check out Woody’s Lunch Box, a Quick Service Dining Location at Disney World.

Hey FANS, today we will dig a little deeper into Toy Story Land and look into this NEW Dining Location in the area – Woody’s Lunch Box.  First this location is a QUICK Service location, meaning NO waitress and it means you NEED to find your own seat.  Seating is OUTDOORS and during peak times – it can be hard to find a seat.  Perhaps send one person scouting for a table, while the other orders.  SCORE if you get one in the shade.

See the Top – its a LUNCH BOX, an old school Metal Lunch Box. The side is the Thermos.

Atmosphere:

This location might be the CUTEST place I have ever eaten at.  Think the INSIDE of a kids (Andy’s) Lunch Box (old-School) with a thermos, animal crackers, juice box, etc.  This entire area is themed like that.

Food:

The Menu is basically kids lunch food, items you might send to school, items you might find in a kids cafeteria (just short of pizza/mac & cheese); Sandwiches with tots and punch.  With the BIG HIT being TOTCHOS (this is what my friend ordered and she enjoyed it).  Who doesn’t love TOTS and NACHOS!!

Quick Service Dining Menu…

My FOOD:

Disclaimer – I am vegan with LOTS of Food Allergies, so I am limited to what I can eat, but thrilled to have options.  I, do however, always travel with those that can order directly off the menu, so I am fully aware of the general items as well and if they were tasty or not (I keep notes).  For my most recent visit – I ordered BOTH items a Vegan can have.  Vegan Totchos and a Vegan (dairy-free) Grilled Cheese.  I took one for the team and ordered TOO much food.

  • Vegan Totchos:  They came with TOTS, vegan chili (bean base), Frito’s (corn chips), dairy-free cheese shreds and green onions on top.  I am NOT a huge fake Cheese fan so next time I will ask for just a sprinkle (as they didn’t melt), but I found this option to be yummy and I 100% would order again.  My oldest kid would also enjoy this meal.
  • Vegan Grilled Cheese: I got a Vegan (dairy-free) Grilled Cheese, a mini cup of tots and a Cutie orange.  I couldn’t eat the other options so I was limited, but I love tots…just had LOTS of TOTS this day, lol.  Sadly I did not like this item, like at all.  I felt it lacked flavor for starters and why oh why do people think fake cheese needs to be mounted up.  Melted cheese was dripping and spilling out everywhere, it was extremely messy and hard to eat.  I was disappointed in this option and so glad the kids weren’t with me as they would have HATED this sandwich.  I was hoping this would be more than just bread and cheese, for the price I would have loved some flavor.  At home, I make mine with mustard and pickles, even dipping it in ketchup wasn’t enough, lol.  And please oh please…if you order this, ask for less cheese.
  • Food Allergy wise:  I found the staff very easy to talk too, they called a chef immediately (even though I knew what I could have).  The Chef/Manager cooked it themselves (I could watch them do it) after discussing the menu with me.  It did take several mins to get (but I will happily wait for SAFE food).  In fact while I was waiting, 3 other families asked for a chef behind me…seeking safe food.  The lady next to me was GF and also ordered the Grilled Cheese (Dairy version).  My meals came out with the Allergy Stick and I confirmed again that it was Dairy-Free, no cheese, no butter.

Everyone around me appeared to enjoy their food.  Lots of happy people eating.  This is a POPULAR place, so be prepared to wait in line and wait for a table.  We ended up sharing our table with an English couple seeking shelter from the sun, they also enjoyed their meal.  I was hungry and left full.  But most of all, I enjoyed looking around and seeing all the little details of this location.  Another BRAVO DISNEY!  Next time Disney, I’d suggest an actual shelter (perhaps an old Pizza Cardboard box or Cereal Box) from the sun and perhaps more tables.  I would also LOVE more options to eat (but I say this about every location; vegan soup, vegan dessert, flavorful sandwich, Vegan nuggets, etc)

I hope this helped anyone deciding to dine at Woody’s Lunch Box, its kinda a must when in the area, they have breakfast too.  And if you have Food Allergies, they were a popular place to dine and seemed able to accommodate all the allergies in line.  Mahalo for Reading and Following along – Nina

Disney’s NEW Toy Story Land REVIEW

Love Toy Story?  Wanna FEEL like a toy and meet Woody and the Gang?  How about a NEW Coaster?  Take a Look…

Hi again, today I thought we would switch gears for a few and talk Walt Disney World.  But don’t worry – plenty of Cruise info to come!  As many of you probably know, Disney opened up a NEW land last summer at Disney’s Hollywood Studios – Toy Story Land!  It’s a stink’in cute area, jam packed with toys, colors, characters and 2 NEW rides.

What a FUN way to welcome you!!

Look and Feel:

I recently revisited this area and I just love all the action and best part, you are not a kid in TSL (Toy Story Land) – you are a TOY!!  Everything is scaled to make you feel like a toy, like you too have “Andy” on the bottom of your shoe.  Giant Pixar Ball, Giant Box of Crayons, Building Blocks, Army Men, Links, Cooties, Dice, Jenga, Wooden Letters, and lots more.

The more you look, the more you see.  Even look at the road (ground) you are walking on…see anything?  The whole area is decorated like Andy’s fort of toys, spilling out to play with, trip on and enjoy…like a child would.  Christmas Lights are strung around the land, which is an excellent touch, as you can image the toys coming alive at night and using the lights to travel across the land.

Toys at play…

NEW Rides and Dining Location:

Toy Story Land has 3 rides; 2 of which are NEW and 1 Dining Location.  The 2 new rides are very well themed.  Slinky Dog Dash is a coaster (see the videos) and Aliens Swirling Saucers is just like Disneyland’s Mater’s Junk Yard Jamboree (which my kids LOVE).  Its a rotating, swirling ride where your “Alien Ship” kinda dances around the track while it spins as you turn a corner.  The third is the ever so popular Toy Story Mania.  All 3 can be fastpassed (only 1 at a time), but Slinky Dog is clearly the crowd favorite at the moment (hello its a NEW coaster).

AND incase that wasn’t enough…you can meet all sorts of characters which you will find, both walking around and meeting guests (or other toys) in their meeting locations.  So Buzz, Jessie, Woody and NEW is Bo Peep.  I witnessed a group of kids interacting with Buzz pressing all his buttons and adjusting his “modes” – Spanish mode was my favorite 😉  And don’t forget to look at the restroom – super cute.  It reminds me of the theming around Disneyland’s It’s A Bugs Land – the bathroom was so well fitting for the area, it blended right it.  At TSL, even the “girls” or “boys” signs fits in with the land.  Bravo Disney!  I love walking around TSL and looking and finding new things I didn’t see before.  AND I love being a TOY!

I am looking forward to returning to TSL this winter as my family tackles Galaxy’s Edge, I know we will need our Toy Story fix, especially as Toy Story 4 is about ready to premiere.  I saw a lengthy preview and I liked what I saw.  “Forky” is the NEW hit character, can’t wait.
